Annual Treasurers Report For 2011

Key Financial Strategies (KFS):  Ehlers & Associates submitted to the Village Board of Trustees this update to the Key Financial Strategies.  It is a review of the KFS for 2001 – 2005, progress to date, and recommendations for the years 2008 – 2012.

The Village of Carbon Cliff’s population has increased by 26.3% (2,134) since the last Census taken in 2000 (1,689).  This increase is the highest percentage rate increase for three counties in Illinois including Henry County, Mercer County & Rock Island County.  Residents of Carbon Cliff deserve huge congratulations for their participation in the 2010 Census.  An increase in population means our community is growing.  This also gives us the opportunity to bring additional funding into the Village.  We should all be proud of this great accomplishment.

Argillo Creek!

From the Office of the United States Board on Geographic Names:  On March 14, 2013, Argillo Creek was entered into the Geographic Names Information System and is now the official name of the creek that runs through Carbon Cliff between 4th and 5th Street.  You can search the Geographic Names Information System here and you may read the official announcement letter here.
