Hydrant Flushing Schedule

Beginning the week of April 10 and finishing May 19, 2017, Carbon Cliff Public Works will flush all fire hydrants in the Village of Carbon Cliff to make sure they are in good working order in case of emergencies and to help flush sediment out of the distribution system.

Please refer to the schedule below for your area. Signs will be posted in each area before flushing begins. Flushing will be done between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Mondays through Fridays.

Do NOT do laundry during the time hydrants are flushed in your area. Flushing stirs up rust and you don’t want that in your washer. If there is any discoloration in your faucet water, let it run for a few minutes, preferably from the tub spout, and it will clear up. Once you have clear water in your faucet, it is safe to do laundry.  The water is safe to drink.

If you have any questions, please call Nick Gottwalt, Village Director at (309) 796-6045 (M-F 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) or e-mail VccDirector@gmail.com.
